﴿وَقَالَ لِلَّذِي ظَنَّ أَنَّهُۥ نَاجٖ مِّنۡهُمَا ٱذۡكُرۡنِي عِندَ رَبِّكَ فَأَنسَىٰهُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ ذِكۡرَ رَبِّهِۦ فَلَبِثَ فِي ٱلسِّجۡنِ بِضۡعَ سِنِينَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 42]
﴿وقال للذي ظن أنه ناج منهما اذكرني عند ربك فأنساه الشيطان ذكر﴾ [يُوسُف: 42]
Dr Kamal Omar And he said to that whom he thought that he is to be absolved and released out of those two: “Mention me to your (master-lord''. So Satan made him forget mentioning to his rabb. So (Yusuf) stayed in prison a few years (more) — |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And he said to the one of them whom he thought should be the one who is saved of the two: Remember me to thy master. Then, Satan caused him to forget the remembrance of him to his master so Joseph lingered in expectation in prison for a certain number of years |

Maududi And Joseph said to the one of the two prisoners who he knew would be set free: "Mention me in your lord´s presence." But Satan caused him to forget mentioning this to his lord (the ruler of Egypt) and so Joseph languished in prison for several years |
