﴿ذَٰلِكَ لِيَعۡلَمَ أَنِّي لَمۡ أَخُنۡهُ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَهۡدِي كَيۡدَ ٱلۡخَآئِنِينَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 52]
﴿ذلك ليعلم أني لم أخنه بالغيب وأن الله لا يهدي كيد الخائنين﴾ [يُوسُف: 52]
| Dr Kamal Omar This I say, so that he (i.e.,Yusuf) comes to know that I have not betrayed him in absence (as he is still staying in the prison of his own), and that Allah fulfils not the plot of the betrayers |

| Maududi Joseph said: "I did this so that he [i.e. the chief) may know that I did not betray him in his absence, and that Allah does not allow the design of the treacherous to succeed |
