﴿وَكَذَٰلِكَ مَكَّنَّا لِيُوسُفَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ يَتَبَوَّأُ مِنۡهَا حَيۡثُ يَشَآءُۚ نُصِيبُ بِرَحۡمَتِنَا مَن نَّشَآءُۖ وَلَا نُضِيعُ أَجۡرَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِينَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 56]
﴿وكذلك مكنا ليوسف في الأرض يتبوأ منها حيث يشاء نصيب برحمتنا من﴾ [يُوسُف: 56]
Dr Kamal Omar And thus We established (vast authority) for Yusuf in the country. He stays and moves therein as and when he likes. We reach with Our mercy on whom We think proper and We do not allow to go waste the reward of those who do righteousness in perfection |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And, thus, We established Joseph firmly in the region to take his dwelling in it when or where he wills. We light Our mercy on whom We will and We waste not the compensation of ones who are doers of good |
Dr Munir Munshey Thus, We granted Yusuf power and authority in the land. He could live anywhere he wanted! By Our Grace, We guide whom We please. We do not waste the rewards of the pious |
Edward Henry Palmer Thus did we establish Joseph in the land that he might settle in what part thereof he pleased - we overtake with our mercy whom we will, nor do we waste the hire of those who do good |

George Sale Thus did We establish Joseph in the land, that he might provide himself a dwelling therein, where he pleased. We bestow our mercy on whom We please, and We suffer not the reward of the righteous to perish |
Maududi Thus did We establish Joseph in the land so that he could settle wherever he pleased. We bestow favour, out of Our Mercy, on whomsoever We please, and We do not cause the reward of those who do good to go to waste |
