﴿قَالَ مَعَاذَ ٱللَّهِ أَن نَّأۡخُذَ إِلَّا مَن وَجَدۡنَا مَتَٰعَنَا عِندَهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّظَٰلِمُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 79]
﴿قال معاذ الله أن نأخذ إلا من وجدنا متاعنا عنده إنا إذا﴾ [يُوسُف: 79]
| Dr Kamal Omar (Yusuf) said: “(I seek) refuge of Allah that we may detain except that with whom we found our property. Indeed, in that case we are surely transgressors |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He said: God be my safe place that we take but him with Whom we found our sustenance. Truly, we, then, would be of the ones who are unjust |
| Dr Munir Munshey Said, "May Allah help us! We can only keep the one, in whose baggage we found the stolen goods. We may not keep any one else! Otherwise, we will be the transgressors |
| Edward Henry Palmer Said he, '(I seek) refuge in God from taking any save him with whom we found our property; verily, we should then be certainly unjust |
| Farook Malik Joseph replied: "God forbid that we should seize other than the one with whom we found our property: if we did so then indeed we would be unjust |
| George Sale Joseph answered, God forbid that we should take any other than him with whom we found our goods; for then should we certainly be unjust |
| Maududi Joseph said: "Allah forbid that we should seize any except him with whom we found our good. Were we to do so, we would surely be one of the wrong-doers |
