﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ ٱعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّكُمُ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَكُمۡ وَٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 21]
﴿ياأيها الناس اعبدوا ربكم الذي خلقكم والذين من قبلكم لعلكم تتقون﴾ [البَقَرَة: 21]
| Dr Kamal Omar O mankind! Obey your Nourisher-Sustainer Who brought into being you and those before you so that you become Al-Muttaqun (the pious and the righteous ones) — |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar O humanity! Worship your Lord Who created you and those who were before you so that perhaps you will be Godfearing |
| Dr Munir Munshey Oh mankind! Worship your Lord Who created you, and those before you. Perhaps you will attain piety |
| Edward Henry Palmer O ye folk! serve your Lord who created you and those before you; haply ye may fear |
| Farook Malik O mankind! Worship your Lord Who created you and created those who came before you; by doing this you may expect to guard yourself against evil |
| George Sale O men of Mecca serve your Lord who hath created you, and those who have been before you peradventure ye will fear Him |
| Maududi O Mankind, submit to your Lord Who created you and those who were before you; in this way only you may expect to save yourselves |
