﴿ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِرَٰشٗا وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بِنَآءٗ وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ فَأَخۡرَجَ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ رِزۡقٗا لَّكُمۡۖ فَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ أَندَادٗا وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 22]
﴿الذي جعل لكم الأرض فراشا والسماء بناء وأنزل من السماء ماء فأخرج﴾ [البَقَرَة: 22]
| Dr Kamal Omar Who has made for you the earth as a bed, and the sky as a roof, and sent down water from towards the sky and brought therewith fruits as food for you. Then, do not set up rivals unto Allah while you know |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar It is He Who assigned the earth for you as a place of restfulness and the heaven as a canopy. And He caused water to descend from heaven and from it drove out fruit of trees as provision for you. Then, assign not rivals to God while you, you know |
| Dr Munir Munshey It is He Who stretched the earth for you like a carpet, and the sky (over you) like a canopy. From the sky, He sent down water, and with it He brought forth fruits for your sustenance. Therefore, do not rank others as rivals of Allah. You do know (the truth) |

| George Sale who hath spread the earth as a bed for you, and the heaven as a covering, and hath caused water to descend from heaven, and thereby produced fruits for your sustenance. Set not up therefore any equals unto God, against your own knowledge |
| Maududi It is He Who has made the earth a bed for you and the sky a canopy; and it is He Who sends down rain from above for the growth of every kind of food products for your sustenance. So, when you know this, you should not set up equals to rank with Allah |
