﴿وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلۡغَرۡبِيِّ إِذۡ قَضَيۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلۡأَمۡرَ وَمَا كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلشَّٰهِدِينَ ﴾
[القَصَص: 44]
﴿وما كنت بجانب الغربي إذ قضينا إلى موسى الأمر وما كنت من﴾ [القَصَص: 44]
| Dr Kamal Omar And you were not on the western side (of the valley, along the mountain) when We completed to Musa the command (directing him to proceed to Firaun); and you are not among the witnesses |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And thou hadst not been on the western edge when We decreed the command to Moses and thou hadst not been among the ones who bear witness |
| Dr Munir Munshey You were not there on the western slopes (of the mountain) where We gave Musa the commandments! You were not a witness |
| Edward Henry Palmer Thou wast not upon the western side when we decided for Moses, but afar off; nor wast thou of the witnesses |
| Farook Malik O Muhammad, you were not present on the western side of the mountain when We gave Moses the Law, nor did you witness that event |
| George Sale Thou, O prophet, wast not on the west side of mount Sinai, when We delivered Moses his commission: Neither wast thou one of those who were present at his receiving it |
| Maududi (O Muhammad), you were then not on the western side when We bestowed this commandment (of Law), and you were not among its witnesses |
