Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Al-‘Ankabut ayat 25 - العَنكبُوت - Page - Juz 20
﴿وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا ٱتَّخَذۡتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَوۡثَٰنٗا مَّوَدَّةَ بَيۡنِكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ يَكۡفُرُ بَعۡضُكُم بِبَعۡضٖ وَيَلۡعَنُ بَعۡضُكُم بَعۡضٗا وَمَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ وَمَا لَكُم مِّن نَّٰصِرِينَ ﴾
[العَنكبُوت: 25]
﴿وقال إنما اتخذتم من دون الله أوثانا مودة بينكم في الحياة الدنيا﴾ [العَنكبُوت: 25]
| Dr Kamal Omar And (Ibrahim) said: “Certainly, what you have adopted besides Allah, (are nothing but just) idols. Attachment amongst you is restricted to the life of this world. Afterwards, on the Day of Resurrection, some of you would reject some (others), and some of you would invoke curse on some (others), and your abode will be the Fire. And (there is) not for you, out of (the) helpers.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And he said: You take only to yourselves graven images instead of God because of affection among yourselves for this present life. Again, on the Day of Resurrection some of you will disavow some others and some of you will curse some others and your place of shelter will be the fire. And for you there will be no ones who help |
| Dr Munir Munshey Instead of Allah, you have accepted the idols to be the basis of your love and friendship in the life of this world. But on the day of resurrection you would repudiate each other, and you would curse each other. Hellfire will be your abode, and you will have no supporters |
| Edward Henry Palmer He said, 'Verily, ye take beside God idols, through mutual friendship in the life of this world; then on the day of judgment ye shall deny each other, and shall curse each other, and your resort shall be the fire, and ye shall have none to help |
| Farook Malik After coming out from the fire safely, Abraham addressed them: "Today you have made idols, instead of Allah, a means of affection among yourselves, but remember, on the Day of Resurrection you shall disown and curse one another. Fire shall be your abode and you shall have no helper |
| George Sale And Abraham said, ye have taken idols, besides God, to cement affection between you in this life: But on the day of resurrection, the one of you shall deny the other, and the one of you shall curse the other; and your abode shall be hell fire, and there shall be none to deliver you |
| Maududi He said: "You have taken up idols instead of Allah as a bond of love among yourselves in the present life, but on the Day of Resurrection you will disown and curse one another. Your refuge shall be the Fire, and none will come to your aid |
