Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Al-‘Ankabut ayat 31 - العَنكبُوت - Page - Juz 20
﴿وَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَآ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ بِٱلۡبُشۡرَىٰ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا مُهۡلِكُوٓاْ أَهۡلِ هَٰذِهِ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِۖ إِنَّ أَهۡلَهَا كَانُواْ ظَٰلِمِينَ ﴾
[العَنكبُوت: 31]
﴿ولما جاءت رسلنا إبراهيم بالبشرى قالوا إنا مهلكو أهل هذه القرية إن﴾ [العَنكبُوت: 31]
| Dr Kamal Omar And when Our messengers (angels) came to Ibrahim with the glad tidings (of the birth of a son), they (also) said: “Verily, we are (appointed as) destroyers to the residents of this town. Surely, its residents have turned transgressors |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And when Our messengers drew near Abraham with the good tidings. They said: Truly, We are ones who will cause to perish the people of this town. Truly, its people had been ones who are unjust |
| Dr Munir Munshey When Our angels came and brought Ibraheem the good news (the prophecy of the two sons), they said, "We are going to destroy the members of that community. Indeed, its residents are evil |
| Edward Henry Palmer And when our messengers came to Abraham with the glad tidings, they said, 'We are about to destroy the people of this city. Verily, the people thereof are wrong-doers |
| Farook Malik When Our Messengers (angels) came to Abraham with the good news (the birth of a son in his old age), they said: "We are to destroy the people of that town, for its people are indeed wrongdoers |
| George Sale And when our messengers came unto Abraham with good tidings, they said, we will surely destroy the inhabitants of this city; for the inhabitants thereof are unjust doers |
| Maududi When Our emissaries brought the good news to Abraham, and said (to him): "We are surely going to destroy the inhabitants of this city; its inhabitants are immersed in wrong-doing |
