﴿قَالَ إِنَّ فِيهَا لُوطٗاۚ قَالُواْ نَحۡنُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن فِيهَاۖ لَنُنَجِّيَنَّهُۥ وَأَهۡلَهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱمۡرَأَتَهُۥ كَانَتۡ مِنَ ٱلۡغَٰبِرِينَ ﴾
[العَنكبُوت: 32]
﴿قال إن فيها لوطا قالوا نحن أعلم بمن فيها لننجينه وأهله إلا﴾ [العَنكبُوت: 32]
| Dr Kamal Omar (Ibrahim) said: “Surely, therein is Lout!” (The angels) said: “We know better about that who is therein. Surely, we will save him and his family, except his wife; she has become of those who bury themselves under dust and debris |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He said: Truly, in it is Lot. They said: We are greater in knowledge of who is in it. We will, truly, deliver him and his family, but his woman. She had been among the ones who stay behind |
| Dr Munir Munshey (Ibraheem) said, "Loot is there!" They replied, "We know who is there! We are definitely going to rescue him and his family, except his wife. She is to be among those staying behind |
| Edward Henry Palmer Said he, 'Verily, in it is Lot;' they said, 'We know best who is therein; we shall of a surety save him and his people, except his wife, who is of those who linger |
| Farook Malik Abraham said: "But Lot is in there." The angels replied: "We know who is in there: we shall certainly save him and his family, except his wife, who will remain behind |
| George Sale Abraham answered, verily Lot dwelleth there. They replied, we well know who dwelleth therein: we will surely deliver him and his family, except his wife; she shall be one of those who remain behind |
| Maududi Abraham said: "But Lot is there." They replied: "We are well aware of those who are there. We shall save him and all his household except his wife." His wife is among those who will stay behind |
