﴿لَيۡسَ لَكَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَمۡرِ شَيۡءٌ أَوۡ يَتُوبَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ أَوۡ يُعَذِّبَهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ ظَٰلِمُونَ ﴾
[آل عِمران: 128]
﴿ليس لك من الأمر شيء أو يتوب عليهم أو يعذبهم فإنهم ظالمون﴾ [آل عِمران: 128]
| Dr Kamal Omar Not for you (is the responsibility) in the matter in any way whether He turns to them (in mercy) or punishes them because certainly they are transgressors |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar It is none of thy affair at all if He turns to them in forgiveness or He punishes them, for, truly, they are ones who are unjust |
| Dr Munir Munshey It isn´t your concern at all (Oh Muhammad, SAW) whether He (relents and) turns to them (in forgiveness), or inflicts a (severe) punishment upon them. They certainly are the wrong doers |
| Edward Henry Palmer Thou hast nothing to do with the affair at all, whether He turn towards them again or punish them; for, verily, they are unjust |
| Farook Malik Not for thee, (but for Allah), is the decision: Whether He turn in mercy to them, or punish them; for they are indeed wrong-doers |
| George Sale It is no business of thine; whether God be turned unto them, or whether he punish them; they are surely unjust doers |
| Maududi (O Messenger!) It is not for you to decide whether He will accept their repentance or chastise them, for they surely are wrongdoers |
