﴿ٱسۡتِكۡبَارٗا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَكۡرَ ٱلسَّيِّيِٕۚ وَلَا يَحِيقُ ٱلۡمَكۡرُ ٱلسَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهۡلِهِۦۚ فَهَلۡ يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا سُنَّتَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَۚ فَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَبۡدِيلٗاۖ وَلَن تَجِدَ لِسُنَّتِ ٱللَّهِ تَحۡوِيلًا ﴾
[فَاطِر: 43]
﴿استكبارا في الأرض ومكر السيئ ولا يحيق المكر السيئ إلا بأهله فهل﴾ [فَاطِر: 43]
| Dr Kamal Omar (showing) arrogance in the land and an evil plotting. And does not engulf the evil plot except its own people, (i.e., the planners themselves become a victim of the evil-plot). So what do they wait except the Sunnah (way of dealing with) the previous people. So you never find regarding the Sunnah of Allah any change. And you never find for the Sunnah of Allah, any Tahveel (reverting back to something initially practiced, then suspended or rejected) |

Thou wilt never find in a custom of God any substitution. And thou wilt never find in a custom of God any revision |
| Dr Munir Munshey They behaved haughtily in the land and devised evil plans (against Our messenger). But inevitably, the treacherous tricks boomerang and engulf the schemers. So are they waiting for the same fate that became the lot of the earlier disbelievers? They shall not find any change in Our established practice. They shall certainly not find any power capable of (intervening and) altering Our (chosen) practice |

Do they expect any other than the punishment awarded against the unbelievers of former times? For thou shalt not find any change in the ordinance of God; neither shalt thou find any variation in the ordinance of God |
| Maududi They began to wax even more proud on earth and contrived evil designs although the contriving of evil designs only overtakes their authors. Are they waiting, then, for anything except what happened to the nations before them? You shall not find any change in the Way of Allah; and you shall not find anything that can ever alter the Way of Allah |
