﴿وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَٱسۡتَحَبُّواْ ٱلۡعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمۡ صَٰعِقَةُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ ﴾
[فُصِّلَت: 17]
﴿وأما ثمود فهديناهم فاستحبوا العمى على الهدى فأخذتهم صاعقة العذاب الهون بما﴾ [فُصِّلَت: 17]
| Dr Kamal Omar And as for Samud, so We gave them guidance but (afterwards) they preferred blindness over guidance; so Saiqa proceeding as a humiliating punishment overtook them because of that which they used to earn (through their beliefs and actions) |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And as for Thamud, We guided them, but they embraced blindness of heart instead of guidance. Then, a thunderbolt took them with a humiliating punishment because of what they had been earning |
