﴿وَقَالُواْ لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَتَيۡنِ عَظِيمٍ ﴾
[الزُّخرُف: 31]
﴿وقالوا لولا نـزل هذا القرآن على رجل من القريتين عظيم﴾ [الزُّخرُف: 31]
Dr Kamal Omar And they said, “Why is not this Al-Quran sent down to a great person of the twain cities?” [Throughout the parent human world (i.e., the Arabic-speahead of state area of the planet) the most important city is Makka, while the next important is Al-Madinah |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar They said: Why was this, the Quran, not sent down to some eminent man of the two towns |
Dr Munir Munshey They ask, "Why is it that this Qur´an is not being revealed to one of the more prominent men of the two cities (Makkah And Taif) |
