Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Al-Ma’idah ayat 13 - المَائدة - Page - Juz 6

Yet, set to their discredit was the crime of breaking the divine covenant which brought them within the measure of Allah’s wrath; We poured upon them maledictions and rendered them hard-hearted. They translocation the words of the Sacred Scriptures to alter Allah’s words and willfully neglect a part of what was imparted to them. And thus still you sense O Muhammad deception as the principal ingredient in their disposition with the excepting a few among them who lift to Allah their inward sight. Nonetheless, accord them forgiveness and do not entertain them with thoughts of ill-will; Allah likes those who turn their thoughts on moral excellence and benevolence

Dr Kamal Omar
So because of their breach of their covenant We cursed them, and We made their hearts hard. They manipulate the word from its (due) places and have abandoned a considerable portion out of that with which they were given the Message. And you will not cease — you will continue to discover deceit in them, except (for) a few in them. So forgive them and overlook (there misdeeds). Verily, Allah loves those who exceed in goodness
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar
Then, for their breaking their solemn promise, We cursed them and We made their hearts ones that harden. They tamper with the words out of context and they forgot an allotment of what they were reminded of in it. Thou wilt not cease to peruse the treachery of them, but a few of them. Then, overlook and pardon them. Truly, God loves the ones who are doers of good
Dr Munir Munshey
Since they breached their covenant, We placed a curse on them and We let their hearts grow hard (and callous). They lift the words (of their scriptures) out of context and they have forgotten a good part of the advice they were given. Except a few of them, you will always hear about the treachery and deceit committed by them. So, excuse them and bear with them. Indeed, Allah loves the pious
Edward Henry Palmer
And for that they broke their compact, we cursed them, and placed in their hearts hardness, so that they perverted the words from their places, and forgot a portion of what they were reminded of. But thou wilt not cease to light upon treachery amongst them, save a few of them; but pardon them and shun them; verily, God loves the kind
Farook Malik
Even after that, they broke their covenant; as a result, We laid on them Our curse and hardened their hearts. They tampered with words out of their context and neglected much of what they were enjoined. You will always find most of them deceitful except for a few of them. Yet forgive them and overlook their misdeeds. Allah loves those who are kind to others
George Sale
Wherefore because they have broken their covenant, we have cursed them, and hardened their hearts; they dislocate the words of the pentateuch from their places, and have forgotten part of what they were admonished; and thou wilt not cease to discover deceitful practices among them, except a few of them. But forgive them, and pardon them, for God loveth the beneficent
Maududi
Then, for their breach of the covenant We cast them away from Our mercy and caused their hearts to harden. (And now they are in such a state that) they pervert the words from their context and thus distort their meaning, and have forgotten a good portion of the teaching they were imparted, and regarding all except a few of them you continue to learn that they committed acts of treachery. Pardon them, then, and overlook their deeds. Surely Allah loves those who do good deeds
