﴿وَمَآ أَفَآءَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ رَسُولِهِۦ مِنۡهُمۡ فَمَآ أَوۡجَفۡتُمۡ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۡ خَيۡلٖ وَلَا رِكَابٖ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُسَلِّطُ رُسُلَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٞ ﴾
[الحَشر: 6]
﴿وما أفاء الله على رسوله منهم فما أوجفتم عليه من خيل ولا﴾ [الحَشر: 6]
Dr Kamal Omar And whatever Allah brought as Fai onto His Messenger from those enemies — you did not make an expedition therefor from cavalry, and nor from camelry. But Allah imposes as victorious His Messengers over whom He thinks proper. And Allah is All-Capable over every thing |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And what God gave as spoils of war to His Messenger from them, you spurred not an animal for an expedition, neither any horse nor riding camel, but God gives authority to His Messengers over whomever He wills. And God is Powerful over everything |
Dr Munir Munshey Allah granted their possessions to His messenger, as spoils (of war). You did not throw your horses and your camels (in battle) against them. Allah gives dominance to His messenger over whatever He pleases. Allah is capable of (doing) everything |

George Sale And as to the spoils of these people which God hath granted wholly to this apostle, ye did not push forward any horses or camels against the same; but God giveth unto his apostles dominion over whom He pleaseth: For God is almighty |
Maududi Whatever Allah has taken away from them and bestowed (as spoils) on His Messenger for which you spurred neither horses nor camels; but Allah grants authority to His Messengers over whomsoever He pleases. Allah has power over everything |
