﴿وما أفاء الله على رسوله منهم فما أوجفتم عليه من خيل ولا﴾ [الحَشر: 6]

Dr Kamal Omar
And whatever Allah brought as Fai onto His Messenger from those enemies — you did not make an expedition therefor from cavalry, and nor from camelry. But Allah imposes as victorious His Messengers over whom He thinks proper. And Allah is All-Capable over every thing
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar
And what God gave as spoils of war to His Messenger from them, you spurred not an animal for an expedition, neither any horse nor riding camel, but God gives authority to His Messengers over whomever He wills. And God is Powerful over everything
Dr Munir Munshey
Allah granted their possessions to His messenger, as spoils (of war). You did not throw your horses and your camels (in battle) against them. Allah gives dominance to His messenger over whatever He pleases. Allah is capable of (doing) everything
Edward Henry Palmer
and as for the spoils that God gave to His Apostle from these (people) ye did not press forward after them with horse or riding camel; but God gives His Apostle authority over whom He pleases, for God is mighty over all
Farook Malik
As for those spoils of theirs which Allah has bestowed on His Messenger, you spurred neither cavalry nor camelry to capture them: but Allah gives authority to His Messengers over whom He pleases, for Allah has power over all things
George Sale
And as to the spoils of these people which God hath granted wholly to this apostle, ye did not push forward any horses or camels against the same; but God giveth unto his apostles dominion over whom He pleaseth: For God is almighty
Maududi
Whatever Allah has taken away from them and bestowed (as spoils) on His Messenger for which you spurred neither horses nor camels; but Allah grants authority to His Messengers over whomsoever He pleases. Allah has power over everything
