Dr Kamal Omar And it is He who sends the winds as a good sign between the two hands of His Mercy (i.e., heralding the approach of His Mercy in the form of rains or improvement in weather) — till when they carried cloud, becoming heavy (due to excessive amount of water), We moved it to a habitation (appearing) dead (due to long absence of rains), then We delivered through it (rain-) water; then We brought forth therewith all kinds of fruits. In this (very way) We shall bring forth (i.e., revive) the dead (on the Day of Resurrection), per chance you may be reminded and may remind others |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And it is He Who sends the winds, ones that are bearers of good news before His mercy until when they were charged with heavy clouds. We will drive it to a dead land. Then, We caused water to descend from the cloud and with it We bring out by water all kinds of fruits. Thus, We bring out the dead so that perhaps you will recollect |
Dr Munir Munshey He it is, Who sends winds bearing the glad tidings of His approaching mercy. We direct the wind heavy with rainclouds towards the dead and barren land, and We call water to pour down upon it. We bring out (from that land) all sorts of food with that water. In much the same manner, We will bring the dead back to life. Perhaps, you would bear that in mind |
Edward Henry Palmer He it is who sends forth the winds as heralds before His mercy; until when they lift the heavy cloud which we drive to a dead land, and send down thereon water, and bring forth therewith every kind of fruit; - thus do we brine, forth the dead; haply ye may remember |
Farook Malik He is the One Who sends the winds bearing good news of His blessings, so when they lift up heavy clouds, We drive them along to a dead countryside and make the rain fall upon it and bring forth all kinds of fruits from the same dead land. Likewise We will raise the dead to life; this example is given so that you may learn a lesson from this observation |
George Sale It is He who sendeth the winds, spread abroad before his mercy, until they bring a cloud heavy with rain, which We drive unto a dead country; and We cause water to descend thereon, by which We cause all sorts of fruits to spring forth. Thus will We bring forth the dead from their graves; that peradventure ye may consider |
Maududi And it is He Who sends forth winds as glad tidings in advance of His Mercy, and when they have carried a heavy-laden cloud We drive it to a dead land, then We send down rain from it and bring forth therwith fruits of every kind. In this manner do We raise the dead that you may take heed |
