﴿وَإِنِّي كُلَّمَا دَعَوۡتُهُمۡ لِتَغۡفِرَ لَهُمۡ جَعَلُوٓاْ أَصَٰبِعَهُمۡ فِيٓ ءَاذَانِهِمۡ وَٱسۡتَغۡشَوۡاْ ثِيَابَهُمۡ وَأَصَرُّواْ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ ٱسۡتِكۡبَارٗا ﴾
[نُوح: 7]
﴿وإني كلما دعوتهم لتغفر لهم جعلوا أصابعهم في آذانهم واستغشوا ثيابهم وأصروا﴾ [نُوح: 7]
Dr Kamal Omar And truly I, every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves up with their garments and insisted (on their wrong beliefs) and behaved with pride in arrogance, patronising seriously arrogant pride |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And, truly, as often as I called to them that Thou wouldst forgive them, they laid their fingertips over their ears and covered themselves with their garments. And they maintained growing arrogant as they grew arrogant |
