71:7 Surah Nuh ayat 7 in Tafsir_English (الإنجليزية تفسير)

Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah Nuh ayat 7 - نُوح - Page - Juz 29

As often as I invited them to present them with inducements to follow your Commendable path and merit your forgiveness, their ears counseled deaf, and in obstinacy they hugged to their hearts their old irreverent conviction of disbelief, hid their faces and overweened themselves in arrogance and inordinate self-esteem

In fact, whenever I call them (to say) that You might forgive them, they stick their fingers in their ears. They (hide their faces and) wrap their clothes around them (in defiance). They grew obstinate and became (rude and insulting, and) increasingly arrogant
Edward Henry Palmer
and, verily, every time I called them, that Thou mightest pardon them, they placed their fingers in their ears and tried to cover themselves with their garments and persisted, and were very big with pride
Farook Malik
Each time I called on them to seek Your pardon, they thrust their fingers in their ears and drew their cloaks over their heads, persisting in sin and puffing themselves up with insolent pride

And whensoever I call them to the true faith, that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and cover themselves with their garments, and persist in their infidelity, and proudly disdain my counsel
Maududi
And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud
