Quran with British translation - Surah Yusuf ayat 14 - يُوسُف - Page - Juz 12
﴿قَالُواْ لَئِنۡ أَكَلَهُ ٱلذِّئۡبُ وَنَحۡنُ عُصۡبَةٌ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّخَٰسِرُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 14]
﴿قالوا لئن أكله الذئب ونحن عصبة إنا إذا لخاسرون﴾ [يُوسُف: 14]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir They said: Surely if the wolf should devour him notwithstanding that we are a (strong) company, we should then certainly be losers |
| Mohammad Shafi They said, "Surely if the wolf should devour him even when we are a strong group, we should then indeed be the doomed ones |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall They said: If the wolf should devour him when we are (so strong) a band, then surely we should have already perished |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani They said, “If a wolf eats him up, while we are a whole group, we are then losers indeed.” |
| Muhammad Asad Said they: "Surely, if the wolf were to devour him notwithstanding that we are so many-then, behold, we ought ourselves to perish |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali They said, "Indeed, in case the wolf eats him, and we are a band, (then) surely we are indeed losers |
| Muhammad Sarwar They said, "If some wild-beast would be able to harm him, despite the presence of our strong group, it would certainly be a great loss to us |
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani They said, .If a wolf eats him up, while we are a whole group, we are then losers indeed |
| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition They said, “If a wolf were to devour him, despite our strong group, then we would certainly be losers!” |
