﴿قَالَ إِنِّي لَيَحۡزُنُنِيٓ أَن تَذۡهَبُواْ بِهِۦ وَأَخَافُ أَن يَأۡكُلَهُ ٱلذِّئۡبُ وَأَنتُمۡ عَنۡهُ غَٰفِلُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 13]
﴿قال إني ليحزنني أن تذهبوا به وأخاف أن يأكله الذئب وأنتم عنه﴾ [يُوسُف: 13]
Mohammad Habib Shakir He said: Surely it grieves me that you should take him off, and I fear lest the wolf devour him while you are heedless of him |
Mohammad Shafi Their father said, "It does indeed grieve me that you should take him away. And I fear lest the wolf devour him while your attention is diverted from him |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall He said: Lo! in truth it saddens me that ye should take him with you, and I fear less the wolf devour him while ye are heedless of him |
Mufti Taqi Usmani He said, “It makes me sad that you should take him with you, and I fear that some wolf may eat him up when you are heedless of him.” |
Muhammad Asad [Jacob] answered: "Behold, it grieves me indeed [to think] that you might take him with you, for I dread lest the wolf devour him at a moment when you are heedless of him |
Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali He said, "Surely it grieves me indeed that you should go with him, and I fear that the wolf may eat him (while) you are heedless of him |
Muhammad Sarwar Jacob replied, "I shall be grieved if you take him with you; I fear that some wild-beast will harm him in your absence |
