Quran with British translation - Surah Yusuf ayat 79 - يُوسُف - Page - Juz 13
﴿قَالَ مَعَاذَ ٱللَّهِ أَن نَّأۡخُذَ إِلَّا مَن وَجَدۡنَا مَتَٰعَنَا عِندَهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّظَٰلِمُونَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 79]
﴿قال معاذ الله أن نأخذ إلا من وجدنا متاعنا عنده إنا إذا﴾ [يُوسُف: 79]
Mohammad Habib Shakir He said: Allah protect us that we should seize other than him with whom we found our property, for then most surely we would be unjust |
Mohammad Shafi He said, "Allah forbid that we seize a man other than him with whom we found our property. We would indeed then be doing a very wrong thing |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall He said: Allah forbid that we should seize save him with whom we found our property; then truly we should be wrong-doers |
Mufti Taqi Usmani He said, “We seek Allah’s refuge from keeping anyone other than him with whom we have found our thing, otherwise we shall be unjust.” |
Muhammad Asad He answered: "May God preserve us from [the sin of] detaining any other than him with whom we have found our property-for then, behold, we would indeed be evildoers |
Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali He said, " Allah be my refuge that we should take anyone except him at whom we found our belongings; (then) surely we would indeed be unjust |
Muhammad Sarwar He replied, "God forbid! How could I take someone in place of the thief? In doing so I would be committing injustice |
Muhammad Taqi Usmani He said, .We seek Allah‘s refuge from keeping anyone other than him with whom we have found our thing, otherwise we shall be unjust |
Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition Joseph responded, “Allah forbid that we should take other than the one with whom we found our property. Otherwise, we would surely be unjust.” |
Mustafa Khattab God Edition Joseph responded, “God forbid that we should take other than the one with whom we found our property. Otherwise, we would surely be unjust.” |
N J Dawood He said: ‘God forbid that we should take any but the man with whom our property was found: for then we should surely be unjust.‘ |
Safi Kaskas [Joseph] answered, "May God preserve us from [the sin of] detaining anyone other than the person on whom we found our property; that would be unjust of us |
