﴿وَلَقَدۡ أَتَوۡاْ عَلَى ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ ٱلَّتِيٓ أُمۡطِرَتۡ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوۡءِۚ أَفَلَمۡ يَكُونُواْ يَرَوۡنَهَاۚ بَلۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ نُشُورٗا ﴾
[الفُرقَان: 40]
﴿ولقد أتوا على القرية التي أمطرت مطر السوء أفلم يكونوا يرونها بل﴾ [الفُرقَان: 40]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And certainly they have (often) passed by the town on which was rained an evil rain; did they not then see it? Nay! they did not hope to be raised again |
| Mohammad Shafi And they must have certainly come upon the town/village on which had rained down an evil rain. How could they not have seen it? Yet they have no faith in the Resurrection |
