﴿وَلَقَدۡ أَتَوۡاْ عَلَى ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ ٱلَّتِيٓ أُمۡطِرَتۡ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوۡءِۚ أَفَلَمۡ يَكُونُواْ يَرَوۡنَهَاۚ بَلۡ كَانُواْ لَا يَرۡجُونَ نُشُورٗا ﴾
[الفُرقَان: 40]
﴿ولقد أتوا على القرية التي أمطرت مطر السوء أفلم يكونوا يرونها بل﴾ [الفُرقَان: 40]
Mohammad Habib Shakir And certainly they have (often) passed by the town on which was rained an evil rain; did they not then see it? Nay! they did not hope to be raised again |
Mohammad Shafi And they must have certainly come upon the town/village on which had rained down an evil rain. How could they not have seen it? Yet they have no faith in the Resurrection |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And indeed they have passed by the township whereon was rained the fatal rain. Can it be that they have not seen it? Nay, but they hope for no resurrection |
