﴿مَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَيۡهِ كُفۡرُهُۥۖ وَمَنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَلِأَنفُسِهِمۡ يَمۡهَدُونَ ﴾ 
[الرُّوم: 44]
﴿من كفر فعليه كفره ومن عمل صالحا فلأنفسهم يمهدون﴾ [الرُّوم: 44]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Whoever disbelieves, he shall be responsible for his disbelief, and whoever does good, they prepare (good) for their own souls | 
| Mohammad Shafi He who rejects the Truth, the responsibility for that rejection shall lie on him himself. And all those who do good deeds, they are making a good preparation for themselves | 
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Whoso disbelieveth must (then) bear the consequences of his disbelief, while those who do right make provision for themselves | 
| Mufti Taqi Usmani Whoever disbelieves, his unbelief will be against him; and whoever acts righteously, then such people are paving the path for themselves |
