Quran with British translation - Surah As-Sajdah ayat 21 - السَّجدة - Page - Juz 21
﴿وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَدۡنَىٰ دُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ ﴾
[السَّجدة: 21]
﴿ولنذيقنهم من العذاب الأدنى دون العذاب الأكبر لعلهم يرجعون﴾ [السَّجدة: 21]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And most certainly We will make them taste of the nearer chastisement before the greater chastisement that haply they may turn |
| Mohammad Shafi And certainly We will make them taste the lower punishment before the great one so that they may turn (to the Right Path) |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And verily We make them taste the lower punishment before the greater, that haply they may return |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani And We will certainly make them taste the nearer punishment before the greater punishment, so that they may return |
| Muhammad Asad However, ere [We condemn them to] that supreme suffering, We shall most certainly let them taste of a suffering closer at hand, so that they might [repent and] mend their ways |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali And We will indeed let them definitely taste of the lowlier torment, (i.e., Punishment in this life) lesser (Or: other than) than the greater, that possibly they would return |
| Muhammad Sarwar We shall certainly make them suffer worldly torment before suffering the great torment so that perhaps they may return to Us |
