Quran with British translation - Surah FaTir ayat 37 - فَاطِر - Page - Juz 22
﴿وَهُمۡ يَصۡطَرِخُونَ فِيهَا رَبَّنَآ أَخۡرِجۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَٰلِحًا غَيۡرَ ٱلَّذِي كُنَّا نَعۡمَلُۚ أَوَلَمۡ نُعَمِّرۡكُم مَّا يَتَذَكَّرُ فِيهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَآءَكُمُ ٱلنَّذِيرُۖ فَذُوقُواْ فَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ ﴾
[فَاطِر: 37]
﴿وهم يصطرخون فيها ربنا أخرجنا نعمل صالحا غير الذي كنا نعمل أو﴾ [فَاطِر: 37]
Mohammad Habib Shakir And they shall cry therein for succour: O our Lord! take us out, we will do good deeds other than those which we used to do. Did We not preserve you alive long enough, so that he who would be mindful in it should mind? And there came to you the warner; therefore taste; because for the unjust, there is no helper |
Mohammad Shafi And therein they wail, "Our Lord! Take us out. We will do good deeds — other than what we used to do!" "Did We not give you a long life so that he, who would, could do it? And there came to you the warner! So suffer now; for, wicked persons have no one to help them |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And they cry for help there, (saying): Our Lord! Release us; we will do right, not (the wrong) that we used to do. Did not We grant you a life long enough for him who reflected to reflect therein? And the warner came unto you. Now taste (the flavour of your deeds), for evil-doers have no helper |
Mufti Taqi Usmani And they will be crying therein, “Our Lord, take us out (from here), and we will act righteously, not in the way we have been doing before.” (Allah will say to them,) “Did We not give you an age in your life in which lesson could have been learnt by the one who wished to take lesson? And (furthermore) the warner had (also) come to you. So, have a taste, because the wrongdoers will have no supporter |
Muhammad Asad And in that [hell] they will cry aloud: “O our Sustainer! Cause us to come out [of this suffering]! We shall [henceforth] do good deeds, not such as we were wont to do [aforetime]!” [But We shall answer:] “Did We not grant you a life long enough so that whoever was willing to take thought could bethink himself? And [withal,] a warner had come unto you! Taste, then, [the fruit of your evil deeds]: for evildoers shall have none to succour them!” |
Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali And they scream aloud, "Our Lord, bring us (forth) out. We will do righteousness, other than whatever we were doing." (we say), "And did We not give you long (life), enough to remind him who would remind himself? And the constant warner came to you. So taste (the torment)! So in no way will the unjust have any ready vindicator |
Muhammad Sarwar Therein they will cry-out, "Lord, take us out of here. We shall act righteously and behave different to what we did before." They will be told, "Did We not allow you to live long enough for you to seek guidance? Did We not send a warner to you? Suffer (the torment). There is no one to help the unjust |

So taste ˹the punishment˺, for the wrongdoers have no helper.” |

N J Dawood Therein they will cry out: ‘Lord, get us out, and we will do good works unlike what we used to do.‘ ‘Did We not make your lives long enough for anyone who would be warned to take warning? Besides, someone did come to warn you: have a taste of it then. None shall succour the wrongdoers.‘ |
Safi Kaskas They will cry out loud, "Our Lord, let us out; We will do good deeds, different from what we were doing before!" "But didn't We give you sufficient time so that those who would be mindful could be mindful? And we even sent you the warner. Taste, then, [the punishment], for the unjust will have no helper |
