Quran with British translation - Surah FaTir ayat 40 - فَاطِر - Page - Juz 22
﴿قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ شُرَكَآءَكُمُ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَرُونِي مَاذَا خَلَقُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شِرۡكٞ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ أَمۡ ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُمۡ كِتَٰبٗا فَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَتٖ مِّنۡهُۚ بَلۡ إِن يَعِدُ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ بَعۡضُهُم بَعۡضًا إِلَّا غُرُورًا ﴾
[فَاطِر: 40]
﴿قل أرأيتم شركاءكم الذين تدعون من دون الله أروني ماذا خلقوا من﴾ [فَاطِر: 40]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Say: Have you considered your associates which you call upon besides Allah? Show me what part of the earth they have created, or have they any share in the heavens; or, have We given them a book so that they follow a clear argument thereof? Nay, the unjust do not hold out promises one to another but only to deceive |
| Mohammad Shafi Say, "Have you seen your gods whom you pray to besides Allah? Show me what sort of earth they have created! Or have they any share in the heavens? Or, have We given them a Book a clear edict whereof they follow?" Nay! The wicked people hold out promises to one another only to deceive |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall Say: Have ye seen your partner-gods to whom ye pray beside Allah? Show me what they created of the earth! Or have they any portion in the heavens? Or have We given them a scripture so they act on clear proof therefrom? Nay, the evil-doers promise one another only to deceive |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani Say, “Tell me about your (presumed) co-gods whom you invoke beside Allah. Show me that part of the earth that they have created. Or do they have a share in the (creation) of the heavens?” Or have We given them a book so that they are upon a clear proof from it? No, but the wrongdoers promise one another nothing but delusion |
| Muhammad Asad Say: “Have you ever [really] considered those beings and forces to whom you ascribe a share in God’s divinity, [and] whom you invoke beside God? Show me what it is that they have created on earth - or do [you claim that] they have a share in [governing] the heavens?” Have We ever vouchsafed them a divine writ on which they could rely as evidence [in support of their views]? Nay, [the hope which] the evildoers hold out to one another [is] nothing but a delusion |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali Say, "Have you seen your associates whom you invoke apart from Allah? Show me what they created of the earth. Or even have they an associating in the heavens? Or even have We brought them a Book so that they are upon supreme evidence from it?" No indeed, (but) decidedly the unjust promise one another (Literally: some of them promise some (others) nothing except delusion |
| Muhammad Sarwar (Muhammad), ask them, "Think about the idols which you worship besides God. Show me what part of the earth they have created. Do they have any share in the heavens? Has God sent them a Book to confirm their authority? In fact, whatever the unjust promise each other is nothing but deceit |
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani Say, .Tell me about your (presumed) co-gods whom you invoke beside Allah. Show me that part of the earth that they have created. | Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition Ask ˹them, O Prophet˺, “Have you considered your associate-gods which you invoke besides Allah? Show me what they have created on earth! Or do they have a share in ˹the creation of˺ the heavens? Or have We given the polytheists a Book, which serves as a clear proof for them? In fact, the wrongdoers promise each other nothing but delusion.” |
| Mustafa Khattab God Edition Ask ˹them, O Prophet˺, “Have you considered your associate-gods which you invoke besides God? Show me what they have created on earth! Or do they have a share in ˹the creation of˺ the heavens? Or have We given the polytheists a Book, which serves as a clear proof for them? In fact, the wrongdoers promise each other nothing but delusion.” |
| N J Dawood Say: ‘Behold your other gods on whom you call besides God. Show me what part of the earth they have created! Have they a share in the heavens?‘ Or have We given them a scripture affording them a veritable proof? Truly, vain are the promises the wrongdoers give each other |
| Safi Kaskas Say, "Have you considered your 'partners' whom you invoke besides God? Show me what part of earth they have created, or do they have a partnership [with Him] in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book that has clear evidence? [No indeed]; Rather, the unjust promise each other nothing but delusion |
