﴿قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡهُ خَلَقۡتَنِي مِن نَّارٖ وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن طِينٖ ﴾
[صٓ: 76]
﴿قال أنا خير منه خلقتني من نار وخلقته من طين﴾ [صٓ: 76]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir He said: I am better than he; Thou hast created me of fire, and him Thou didst create of dust |
| Mohammad Shafi Iblees replied, "I am better than he. You have created me out of fire [energy], and You have created him out of clay [matter] |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall He said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire, whilst him Thou didst create of clay |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani He said, “I am better than him. You created me from fire, and created him from clay.” |
| Muhammad Asad Answered [Iblis]: “I am better than he: Thou hast created me out of fire, whereas him Thou hast created out of clay.” |
