Quran with British translation - Surah Al-Ma’idah ayat 22 - المَائدة - Page - Juz 6
﴿قَالُواْ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّ فِيهَا قَوۡمٗا جَبَّارِينَ وَإِنَّا لَن نَّدۡخُلَهَا حَتَّىٰ يَخۡرُجُواْ مِنۡهَا فَإِن يَخۡرُجُواْ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّا دَٰخِلُونَ ﴾
[المَائدة: 22]
﴿قالوا ياموسى إن فيها قوما جبارين وإنا لن ندخلها حتى يخرجوا منها﴾ [المَائدة: 22]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir They said: O Musa! surely there is a strong race in it, and we will on no account enter it until they go out from it, so if they go out from it, then surely we will enter |
| Mohammad Shafi They said, "O Moses! In it indeed live a cruel people. And we shall definitely not enter it until they go out from it. And if they go out from it, then indeed we shall enter |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall They said: O Moses! Lo! a giant people (dwell) therein and lo! we go not in till they go forth from thence. When they go forth from thence, then we will enter (not till then) |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani They said, “O Mūsā, there is a nation of tyrants over there, and we shall never enter it until they get out of it. If they do get out of it, we are ready to go in.” |
| Muhammad Asad They answered: "O Moses! Behold, ferocious people -dwell in that land, and we will surely not enter it unless they depart therefrom; but if they depart therefrom, then, behold, we will enter it |
