﴿وَمَا لَكُمۡ أَلَّا تُنفِقُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ لَا يَسۡتَوِي مِنكُم مَّنۡ أَنفَقَ مِن قَبۡلِ ٱلۡفَتۡحِ وَقَٰتَلَۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَعۡظَمُ دَرَجَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنفَقُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ وَقَٰتَلُواْۚ وَكُلّٗا وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ ﴾
[الحدِيد: 10]
﴿وما لكم ألا تنفقوا في سبيل الله ولله ميراث السموات والأرض لا﴾ [الحدِيد: 10]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And what reason have you that you should not spend in Allah's way? And Allah's is the inheritance of the heavens and the earth, not alike among you are those who spent before the victory and fought (and those who did not): they are more exalted in rank than those who spent and fought afterwards; and Allah has promised good to all; and Allah is Aware of what you do |
| Mohammad Shafi What is the matter with you that you spend not for the cause of Allah, when Allah alone inherits everything that is in the heavens and the earth? Those of you who spent and fought before the Victory are not equal but higher in rank to those who spent and fought afterwards. Yet Allah has promised you all a good reward.
