Quran with British translation - Surah Al-An‘am ayat 130 - الأنعَام - Page - Juz 8
﴿يَٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ رُسُلٞ مِّنكُمۡ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِي وَيُنذِرُونَكُمۡ لِقَآءَ يَوۡمِكُمۡ هَٰذَاۚ قَالُواْ شَهِدۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِنَاۖ وَغَرَّتۡهُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَشَهِدُواْ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ كَٰفِرِينَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 130]
﴿يامعشر الجن والإنس ألم يأتكم رسل منكم يقصون عليكم آياتي وينذرونكم لقاء﴾ [الأنعَام: 130]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir O assembly of jinn and men! did there not come to you apostles from among you, relating to you My communications and warning you of the meeting of this day of yours? They shall say: We bear witness against ourselves; and this world's life deceived them, and they shall bear witness against their own souls that they were unbelievers |
| Mohammad Shafi O assembly of jinn and mankind! Did there not come to you Messengers from amongst you, recounting to you My Verses/signs and warning you of your appointment for this Day?" They shall say, "We bear witness against our own selves." And the life of this world deceived them, and they shall bear witness against their own selves that they were suppressing the Truth |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall O ye assembly of the jinn and humankind! Came there not unto you messengers of your own who recounted unto you My tokens and warned you of the meeting of this your Day? They will say: We testify against ourselves. And the life of the world beguiled them. And they testify against themselves that they were disbelievers |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani “O species of Jinn and mankind, had the messengers not come to you, from among yourselves, who used to relate My verses to you, and used to warn you of the encounter of this your day?” They will say, “We testify against ourselves.” The worldly life had deceived them, and they will testify against themselves that they were disbelievers |
| Muhammad Asad [And thus will God continue:] "O you who have lived in close communion with [evil] invisible beings and [like-minded] humans! Have there not come unto you apostles from among yourselves, who conveyed unto you My messages and warned you of the coming of this your Day [of Judgment]?" They will answer: "We do bear witness against ourselves!"-for the life of this world had beguiled them: and so they will bear witness against themselves that they had been denying the truth |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali O company of jinn and humankind, did Messengers not come up to you from among you, (who) narrated to you My signs and warned you of the meeting of this your Day?" They will say, "We bear witness against ourselves." And the present life (Literally: the lowly life, i.e., the life of this world) deluded them, and they bore witness against themselves that they were disbelievers |
| Muhammad Sarwar When people and jinn are asked, "Did not Messengers from your own people come to you to convey Our revelations and to warn you of the Day of Resurrection?" They will reply, "(Yes indeed)." The worldly life deceived them. They will testify that they were unbelievers |

And they will testify against themselves that they were disbelievers |
| Mustafa Khattab God Edition ˹God will ask,˺ “O assembly of jinn and humans! Did messengers not come from among you, proclaiming My revelations and warning you of the coming of this Day of yours?” They will say, “We confess against ourselves!” For they have been deluded by ˹their˺ worldly life. | N J Dawood You clans of jinn and humankind! Did there not come to you apostles of your own who proclaimed to you My revelations and warned you of this day?‘ They will say: ‘We bear witness against our own souls.‘ The life of this world has seduced them. They will testify against their own souls that they were unbelievers |
| Safi Kaskas You who have lived in close company with jinn and like-minded humans, did not messengers not come from among you to recite My message and warn you of the coming of this Day [of Judgment]?" They will answer, "We bear witness against ourselves." The life of this world has seduced them, and so they will bear witness against themselves that they had rejected the truth |
