Quran with British translation - Surah Al-An‘am ayat 131 - الأنعَام - Page - Juz 8
﴿ذَٰلِكَ أَن لَّمۡ يَكُن رَّبُّكَ مُهۡلِكَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ بِظُلۡمٖ وَأَهۡلُهَا غَٰفِلُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 131]
﴿ذلك أن لم يكن ربك مهلك القرى بظلم وأهلها غافلون﴾ [الأنعَام: 131]
Mohammad Habib Shakir This is because your Lord would not destroy towns unjustly while their people were negligent |
Mohammad Shafi The Messengers were sent because your Lord would not destroy human settlements oppressively, while their inhabitants were unaware |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall This is because thy Lord destroyeth not the townships arbitrarily while their people are unconscious (of the wrong they do) |
Mufti Taqi Usmani That (Allah sends messengers) is because your Lord is not to destroy any towns on account of any wrongdoing, while their people are unaware |
Muhammad Asad And so it is that thy Sustainer would never destroy a community for its wrongdoing so long as its people are still unaware [of the meaning of right and wrong] |
