Quran with British translation - Surah AT-Talaq ayat 8 - الطَّلَاق - Page - Juz 28
﴿وَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ عَتَتۡ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهَا وَرُسُلِهِۦ فَحَاسَبۡنَٰهَا حِسَابٗا شَدِيدٗا وَعَذَّبۡنَٰهَا عَذَابٗا نُّكۡرٗا ﴾
[الطَّلَاق: 8]
﴿وكأين من قرية عتت عن أمر ربها ورسله فحاسبناها حسابا شديدا وعذبناها﴾ [الطَّلَاق: 8]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And how many a town which rebelled against the commandment of its Lord and His apostles, so We called it to account severely and We chastised it (with) a stern chastisement |
| Mohammad Shafi And how many a village/town did haughtily disregard the Decree of its Lord and His Messengers? And We sternly took it to account and punished it severely |
