﴿وَيَقُولُونَ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۖ فَقُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡغَيۡبُ لِلَّهِ فَٱنتَظِرُوٓاْ إِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُنتَظِرِينَ ﴾
[يُونس: 20]
﴿ويقولون لولا أنـزل عليه آية من ربه فقل إنما الغيب لله فانتظروا﴾ [يُونس: 20]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al They say, “Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord?” Say, “The unknown is only for God. But wait, I too will wait with you.” |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And they say: why a miracle was not send down to him from his Master? Say: the unseen is only for God (to know), so wait and I am with you among those who wait |
| Ali Quli Qarai They say, ‘Why has not some sign been sent down to him from his Lord?’ Say, ‘[The knowledge of] the Unseen belongs only to Allah. So wait. I too am waiting along with you.’ |
| Ali Unal They say: "Why isn’t a miraculous sign (of a different sort) sent down on him from his Lord?" Say, then: "The Unseen belongs to God alone (He does whatever He wills and only He knows what the future will bring): therefore, wait and see, indeed I too am with you among those who wait |
| Hamid S Aziz They say, "If only a sign had been sent down upon him from his Lord?" Say, "The unseen belongs only to Allah; but wait you for a while. Verily, I, too, am waiting with you |
| John Medows Rodwell They say: "Unless a sign be sent down to him from his Lord. . . ." But SAY: The hidden is only with God: wait therefore: I truly will be with you among those who wait |
| Literal And they say: "If only an evidence/sign was descended on him from his Lord." So say: "But the absent/supernatural (is) to God so wait , that I am with you from the waiting |
| Mir Anees Original And they say, “Why has not a sign been sent down on him from his Fosterer?” So tell (them), “(I do not know) the unrevealed (affairs, it) is only for Allah (to decide), so wait, I (too), with you, will be of those who wait.” |
