Quran with English translation - Surah Ar-Ra‘d ayat 5 - الرَّعد - Page - Juz 13
﴿۞ وَإِن تَعۡجَبۡ فَعَجَبٞ قَوۡلُهُمۡ أَءِذَا كُنَّا تُرَٰبًا أَءِنَّا لَفِي خَلۡقٖ جَدِيدٍۗ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡأَغۡلَٰلُ فِيٓ أَعۡنَاقِهِمۡۖ وَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ ﴾
[الرَّعد: 5]
﴿وإن تعجب فعجب قولهم أئذا كنا ترابا أئنا لفي خلق جديد أولئك﴾ [الرَّعد: 5]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al You are astonished at their saying, “When we are dust, will we indeed be in a new creation?” They are those who deny their Lord. They are those around whose necks will be chains. They will be companions of the fire, to dwell therein forever |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And if you are surprised, then their saying is astonishing: will we be created again when we turn to dust? They are those who disbelieved in their Master, and they have shackles around their necks, and they are inhabitants of the fire, they remain in it forever |
| Ali Quli Qarai If you are to wonder [at anything], then wonderful is their remark, ‘When we have become dust, shall we be [ushered] into a new creation?’ They are the ones who defy their Lord; they shall have iron collars around their necks, they shall be the inhabitants of the Fire, and they shall remain in it [forever] |
| Ali Unal If there is something for you to find strange, how strange their saying is: "What! After we have become dust, will we indeed be (raised up again) in a new creation?" Those are they who disbelieve in their Lord, and around whose necks are fetters (by which they are being dragged into the Fire). They are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein |
| Hamid S Aziz And if you should wonder (at their lack of faith), wondrous are their words, "When we have become dust (or are actually dust), shall we then be created anew?" These are they who disbelieve in their Lord, and these are they with fetters (yokes of) |
| John Medows Rodwell If ever thou dost marvel, marvellous surely is their saying, "What! when we have become dust, shall we be restored in a new creation?" These are they who in their Lord believe not: these! the collars shall be on their necks; and these shall be inmates of the fire, to abide therein for aye |
| Literal And if you be astonished, so their saying/opinion and belief (is a) wonderment/astonishment/ surprise: "Is it that if we were dust/earth are we (to be) in (E) (a) new creation ?" Those are those who disbelieved with their Lord, and those, the leather or iron collars or handcuffs (will be) in their necks, and those are the fire`s owners/company/friends, they are in it immortally/eternally |
| Mir Anees Original And if you would wonder, then wonderful is their saying, “What ! when we become (part of the ) soil (after our death) shall we indeed be (created ) in a new creation?” Those are the persons who do not believe in their Fosterer and those will have chains in their necks and those are the inhabitants of the fire, they will stay therein |
