﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيۡكُمُ ٱلصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 183]
﴿ياأيها الذين آمنوا كتب عليكم الصيام كما كتب على الذين من قبلكم﴾ [البَقَرَة: 183]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al O you who believe, fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you might increase in consciousness and awareness |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad You who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so you may control yourselves |
| Ali Quli Qarai O you who have faith! Prescribed for you is fasting as it was prescribed for those who were before you, so that you may be Godwary |
| Ali Unal O you who believe! Prescribed for you is the Fast, as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may deserve God’s protection (against the temptations of your carnal soul) and attain piety |
| Hamid S Aziz O you who believe! There is prescribed for you the fast as it was prescribed for those before you; per chance (or possibly) you may learn self-restraint |
| John Medows Rodwell O believers! a Fast is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that ye may fear God |
| Literal You, you those who believed, it is dictated/ordered on you the fasting , as it is dictated/ordered on those from before you, maybe you fear and obey (God) |
