Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Anbiya’ ayat 43 - الأنبيَاء - Page - Juz 17
﴿أَمۡ لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةٞ تَمۡنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَاۚ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصۡحَبُونَ ﴾
[الأنبيَاء: 43]
﴿أم لهم آلهة تمنعهم من دوننا لا يستطيعون نصر أنفسهم ولا هم﴾ [الأنبيَاء: 43]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Or have they gods that can guard them from Us? They have no power to aid themselves, nor can they be defended from Us |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Or do they have gods that guard/defend them against Us? They cannot help themselves and they are not accompanied (and helped) by Us |
Ali Quli Qarai Do they have gods besides Us to defend them? Neither can they help themselves, nor can they shield [the idolaters] from Us |
Ali Unal Or do they really have deities apart from Us to defend them? They (those alleged deities) are not even able to help themselves, nor can they get any help and friendship from Us |
Hamid S Aziz Have they gods to defend them against Us? These cannot help themselves, nor can they be defended against Us |
John Medows Rodwell Have they gods beside Us who can defend them? For their own succour have they no power; neither shall the gods they join with God screen them from Us |
Literal Or (are) for them gods preventing/protecting them from other than/besides Us, (or are there Gods that protect them from Us), they are not able (of) victory/aid (to) themselves, and nor they are from Us being accompanied/befriended |
