Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Qasas ayat 55 - القَصَص - Page - Juz 20
﴿وَإِذَا سَمِعُواْ ٱللَّغۡوَ أَعۡرَضُواْ عَنۡهُ وَقَالُواْ لَنَآ أَعۡمَٰلُنَا وَلَكُمۡ أَعۡمَٰلُكُمۡ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡ لَا نَبۡتَغِي ٱلۡجَٰهِلِينَ ﴾
[القَصَص: 55]
﴿وإذا سمعوا اللغو أعرضوا عنه وقالوا لنا أعمالنا ولكم أعمالكم سلام عليكم﴾ [القَصَص: 55]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al And when they hear vain talk, they turn away from it and say, “To us our deeds, and to you yours, peace be unto you. We do not seek ignorance.” |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And when they hear useless (talk) they stay away from it and say: our deeds for us and your deeds for you, peace (and well-being) upon you, we do not want (to have anything to do with) the ignorant ones |
Ali Quli Qarai and when they hear vain talk, they avoid it and say, ‘Our deeds belong to us, and your deeds belong to you. Peace be to you. We do not court the ignorant.’ |
Ali Unal When they hear any vain (useless or aggressive) talk, they turn away from it, without reciprocating it, and say (to those who are engaged in it): "To us are accounted our deeds, and to you, your deeds. Peace be upon you! We do not seek to mix with the ignorant (those unaware of God, true guidance and right and wrong) |

Literal And if they heard/listened (to) the nonsense/senseless talk , they turned away from it, and they said: "For us (are) our deeds, and for you, your deeds, a greeting/peace on (to) you, we do not wish/desire the lowly/ignorant |
