Quran with English translation - Surah Al-‘Ankabut ayat 29 - العَنكبُوت - Page - Juz 20
﴿أَئِنَّكُمۡ لَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ وَتَقۡطَعُونَ ٱلسَّبِيلَ وَتَأۡتُونَ فِي نَادِيكُمُ ٱلۡمُنكَرَۖ فَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهِۦٓ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُواْ ٱئۡتِنَا بِعَذَابِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰدِقِينَ ﴾
[العَنكبُوت: 29]
﴿أئنكم لتأتون الرجال وتقطعون السبيل وتأتون في ناديكم المنكر فما كان جواب﴾ [العَنكبُوت: 29]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al “Do you indeed approach men, and cut off the lineage? And practice sin, even in your councils?” But his people gave no answer except this, “Bring us the punishment of God if you tell the truth.” |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Do you approach the males and cut off the way and you commit the unacceptable in your gatherings? But there was no answer from his people except to say: bring us God’s punishment if you are of the truthful |
| Ali Quli Qarai What! Do you come to men, and cut off the way, and commit outrages in your gatherings?’ But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Bring down us Allah’s punishment, if you are truthful.’ |
| Ali Unal (After such severe warnings of God) will you continue to go come to men with lust, waylay (travelers) on the road (especially male travelers), and commit shameful deeds in your assemblies? The response of his people was only that they said (mocking and challenging him): "Bring down upon us the punishment of God with which you threaten us, if you are truthful |
| Hamid S Aziz Do you approach men? And cut off the highway? And practice wickedness in your assemblies?" But his people gave no answer but this, "Bring us the Wrath of Allah, if you speak the truth |
| John Medows Rodwell Proceed ye even to men? attack ye them on the highway? and proceed ye to the crime in your assemblies?" But the only answer of his people was to say, "Bring God's chastisement upon us, if thou art a man of truth |
| Literal That you are coming/doing/committing (E) (to) the men (sexually), and you cut off/sever the way/path , and you come/commit in your gathering/assembly/club (with) the defiance of God and His orders/obscenity . So his nation`s answer/reply was not except that they said: "Come/bring to us with God`s torture, if you were from the truthful |
