﴿ٱلَّذِينَ يَتَّخِذُونَ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۚ أَيَبۡتَغُونَ عِندَهُمُ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ فَإِنَّ ٱلۡعِزَّةَ لِلَّهِ جَمِيعٗا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 139]
﴿الذين يتخذون الكافرين أولياء من دون المؤمنين أيبتغون عندهم العزة فإن العزة﴾ [النِّسَاء: 139]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Those who take for friends unbelievers rather than believers, is it honor they seek among them? No, all honor is with God |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad those who take the disbelievers as protectors instead of the believers. Are they looking for respect (and honor) through them? Indeed all the respect belongs to God |
Ali Quli Qarai —those who take the faithless for allies instead of the faithful. Do they seek honour with them? [If so,] indeed all honour belongs to Allah |
Ali Unal (The hypocrites are) those who take unbelievers for confidants, guardians and allies in preference to the believers: do they seek might and glory in being together with them? (If so, let them know that) might and glory belong altogether to God |
Hamid S Aziz Yea, to those who take the disbelievers for their patron rather than believers. Do they crave honour from them? Verily, all honour is with Allah |
John Medows Rodwell Those who take the unbelievers for friends besides the faithful - do they seek honour at their hands? Verily, all honour belongeth unto God |
Literal Those who take the disbelievers (as) allies from other than the believers, do they wish/desire at them the glory/dignity , so that the glory/dignity (is) all to God |
Mir Aneesuddin Those who take the disbelievers as friends besides the believers, do they seek might (power) from them? Then total might is certainly God's |
