﴿قُلۡ يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ لَا تَغۡلُواْ فِي دِينِكُمۡ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَ قَوۡمٖ قَدۡ ضَلُّواْ مِن قَبۡلُ وَأَضَلُّواْ كَثِيرٗا وَضَلُّواْ عَن سَوَآءِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ ﴾
[المَائدة: 77]
﴿قل ياأهل الكتاب لا تغلوا في دينكم غير الحق ولا تتبعوا أهواء﴾ [المَائدة: 77]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Say, “O people of the Book, do not go to extremes in your religions, other than in truth. Nor follow the vain desires of people who went wrong in times gone by, who misled many and strayed from the balanced way.” |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Say: people of the book, do not exaggerate unjustifiably in your religion (way of life), and do not follow the desires of people who were lost in the past and misguided many and lost the even (right) way |
Ali Quli Qarai Say, ‘O People of the Book! Do not unduly exceed the bounds in your religion and do not follow the fancies of a people who went astray in the past, and led many astray, and [themselves] strayed from the right path.’ |
Ali Unal Say: "O People of the Book! Do not go beyond the bounds in your religion, (straying towards) other than the truth, and do not follow the lusts and fancies of a people who went astray before, and led many others astray, and they strayed (as again others do now) from the right, even way |
Hamid S Aziz Say, "O people of the Book! Exceed not in your religion other than the Truth, and follow not the lusts (prejudices, fantasies, superstitions) of a people who have erred in the past, and who lead many astray, and who go astray from the Even Path |
John Medows Rodwell SAY: O people of the Book! outstep not bounds of truth in your religion; neither follow the desires of those who have already gone astray, and who have caused many to go astray, and have themselves gone astray from the evenness of the way |
Literal Say: "You The Book`s people, do not exaggerate/exceed the limit in your religion, other than the truth , and do not follow a nation`s self attractions for desires , they had misguided from before and they misguided many, and they misguided from the way`s/path`s middle/straightness |
