Quran with English translation - Surah Al-An‘am ayat 43 - الأنعَام - Page - Juz 7
﴿فَلَوۡلَآ إِذۡ جَآءَهُم بَأۡسُنَا تَضَرَّعُواْ وَلَٰكِن قَسَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 43]
﴿فلولا إذ جاءهم بأسنا تضرعوا ولكن قست قلوبهم وزين لهم الشيطان ما﴾ [الأنعَام: 43]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al When the suffering reached them from Us, why then did they not learn virtue? On the contrary, their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their acts seem alluring to them |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad So why did they not humble when Our suffering came to them? Instead their hearts became hardened and Satan beautified for them what they were doing |
| Ali Quli Qarai Why did they not entreat when Our punishment overtook them! But their hearts had hardened, and Satan had made what they had been doing seem decorous to them |
| Ali Unal If only, when Our trial came upon them, they had invoked Us with humility! But their hearts grew hard and Satan decked out whatever they were doing as appealing to them |

| Literal So where it not for when Our might came to them, they became humble and humiliated themselves, and but their hearts/minds became cruel/merciless, and the devil decorated/beautified for them what they were making/doing |
