Quran with English translation - Surah Al-An‘am ayat 56 - الأنعَام - Page - Juz 7
﴿قُلۡ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنۡ أَعۡبُدَ ٱلَّذِينَ تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ قُل لَّآ أَتَّبِعُ أَهۡوَآءَكُمۡ قَدۡ ضَلَلۡتُ إِذٗا وَمَآ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهۡتَدِينَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 56]
﴿قل إني نهيت أن أعبد الذين تدعون من دون الله قل لا﴾ [الأنعَام: 56]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Say, “I am forbidden to worship those other than God that you call upon.” Say, “I will not follow your vain desires. If I did, I would stray from the path, and not be of the company of those who receive guidance.” |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Say: I am forbidden to serve those you call on other than God. Say: I do not follow your desires, then I have lost (the right path) and will not be of the guided |
| Ali Quli Qarai Say, ‘I have been forbidden to worship those whom you invoke besides Allah.’ Say, ‘I do not follow your desires, for then I will have gone astray, and I will not be among the [rightly] guided.’ |
| Ali Unal Say (to those associating partners with God): "I have been forbidden to worship those beings whom you deify and invoke apart from God." Say: "I do not follow your lusts and fancies – or else I would go astray and would not be of those who are rightly guided |
| Hamid S Aziz Say, "I am forbidden to worship those you call upon anything beside Allah." Say, "I will not follow your lusts (desires, prejudices, fantasies), for then would I err and not be of the rightly guided |

| Literal Say: "That I, I was forbidden/prevented that I worship those who you call from other than God." Say: "I do not follow your self attractions for desires I had then become misguided, and I am not from the guided |
| Mir Anees Original Say, "I am forbidden to serve, those whom you pray to, besides Allah," Say, "I will not follow your desires, (and in case I did) then indeed I would go astray and I would not be of those who are guided |
