Quran with English translation - Surah At-Taubah ayat 50 - التوبَة - Page - Juz 10
﴿إِن تُصِبۡكَ حَسَنَةٞ تَسُؤۡهُمۡۖ وَإِن تُصِبۡكَ مُصِيبَةٞ يَقُولُواْ قَدۡ أَخَذۡنَآ أَمۡرَنَا مِن قَبۡلُ وَيَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُمۡ فَرِحُونَ ﴾
[التوبَة: 50]
﴿إن تصبك حسنة تسؤهم وإن تصبك مصيبة يقولوا قد أخذنا أمرنا من﴾ [التوبَة: 50]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al If good befalls you, it grieves them, but if a misfortune befalls you they say, “We indeed took precautions beforehand,” And they turn away rejoicing |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad If any good happens to you, it upsets them. And if you suffer a tragedy, they say: we took (care of) our affairs earlier (by not going to war), and they turn away while they are happy |
| Ali Quli Qarai If some good should befall you, it upsets them; but if an adversity befalls you, they say, ‘We had already taken our precautions in advance,’ and they go away boasting |
| Ali Unal If something good comes to you (O Messenger), this grieves them; and if a disaster befalls you, they say, "We have taken due care of our affairs in good time," and turn away, exultant |
| Hamid S Aziz If good befall you it also afflicts (or grieves) them; but if a calamity befall you they say, "We took precautions." and they turn away well pleased (or rejoicing) |
| John Medows Rodwell If a success betide thee, it annoyeth them: but if a reverse betide thee, they say, "We took our own measures before:" and they turn their backs and are glad |
| Literal If goodness strikes you it harms them , and if disaster/every thing hated strikes you , they say: "We had taken our matter/affair from before." And they turn away and they are happy/delighted |
