﴿لَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيۡنَيۡكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعۡنَا بِهِۦٓ أَزۡوَٰجٗا مِّنۡهُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَٱخۡفِضۡ جَنَاحَكَ لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ﴾
[الحِجر: 88]
﴿لا تمدن عينيك إلى ما متعنا به أزواجا منهم ولا تحزن عليهم﴾ [الحِجر: 88]
| Abdel Haleem Do not look longingly at the good things We have given some to enjoy. Do not grieve over the [disbelievers], but lower your wings over the believers |
| Abdul Hye Don’t look with your eyes at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them (disbelievers), nor grieve over them. And lower your wings (be courteous) to the believers |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers |
