﴿وَأَمَّا ٱلۡغُلَٰمُ فَكَانَ أَبَوَاهُ مُؤۡمِنَيۡنِ فَخَشِينَآ أَن يُرۡهِقَهُمَا طُغۡيَٰنٗا وَكُفۡرٗا ﴾
[الكَهف: 80]
﴿وأما الغلام فكان أبواه مؤمنين فخشينا أن يرهقهما طغيانا وكفرا﴾ [الكَهف: 80]
| Abdel Haleem The young boy had parents who were people of faith, and so, fearing he would trouble them through wickedness and disbelief |
| Abdul Hye As for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared lest he would oppress them by rebellion and disbelief |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali As for the youth, his parents were people of Faith, and we feared that he would grieve them by obstinate rebellion and ingratitude (to Allah and man) |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we apprehended that he might impose upon the twain exorbitance and infidelity |
