﴿أَمۡ كُنتُمۡ شُهَدَآءَ إِذۡ حَضَرَ يَعۡقُوبَ ٱلۡمَوۡتُ إِذۡ قَالَ لِبَنِيهِ مَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِيۖ قَالُواْ نَعۡبُدُ إِلَٰهَكَ وَإِلَٰهَ ءَابَآئِكَ إِبۡرَٰهِـۧمَ وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِسۡحَٰقَ إِلَٰهٗا وَٰحِدٗا وَنَحۡنُ لَهُۥ مُسۡلِمُونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 133]
﴿أم كنتم شهداء إذ حضر يعقوب الموت إذ قال لبنيه ما تعبدون﴾ [البَقَرَة: 133]
| Abdel Haleem Were you [Jews] there to see when death came upon Jacob? When he said to his sons, ‘What will you worship after I am gone?’ they replied, ‘We shall worship your God and the God of your fathers, Abraham, Ishmael, and Isaac, one single God: we devote ourselves to Him.’ |
| Abdul Hye Or were you witnesses when the death approached to Jacob? When he said to his sons: "What will you worship after me?" They said: "We will worship your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, Abraham and Ishmael, and Isaac, one Lord, and to Him we submit as Muslims |
