﴿۞ أَفَتَطۡمَعُونَ أَن يُؤۡمِنُواْ لَكُمۡ وَقَدۡ كَانَ فَرِيقٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ يَسۡمَعُونَ كَلَٰمَ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُحَرِّفُونَهُۥ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا عَقَلُوهُ وَهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 75]
﴿أفتطمعون أن يؤمنوا لكم وقد كان فريق منهم يسمعون كلام الله ثم﴾ [البَقَرَة: 75]
| Abdel Haleem So can you [believers] hope that such people will believe you, when some of them used to hear the words of God and then deliberately twist them, even when they understood them |
| Abdul Hye Do you (believers) still hope that they (people of the book) will believe in you (religion) while indeed a group of them used to hear the Word of Allah, then they used to change knowingly after what they understood it |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali Can ye (o ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you?- Seeing that a party of them heard the Word of Allah, and perverted it knowingly after they understood it |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi Covet ye then that they would believe for you whereas surely a Party of them hath been hearing the Word of Allah and then reverting it after they have understood it, While they know |
