﴿فَإِذَا رَكِبُواْ فِي ٱلۡفُلۡكِ دَعَوُاْ ٱللَّهَ مُخۡلِصِينَ لَهُ ٱلدِّينَ فَلَمَّا نَجَّىٰهُمۡ إِلَى ٱلۡبَرِّ إِذَا هُمۡ يُشۡرِكُونَ ﴾
[العَنكبُوت: 65]
﴿فإذا ركبوا في الفلك دعوا الله مخلصين له الدين فلما نجاهم إلى﴾ [العَنكبُوت: 65]
Abdel Haleem Whenever they go on board a ship they call on God, and dedicate their faith to Him alone, but once He has delivered them safely back to land, see how they ascribe partners to Him |
Abdul Hye When they embark on a ship, they invoke Allah (during trouble) making their religion pure for Him only. But when He brings them safely to land, behold, they join (give credit to) others in worship (besides Allah) |
Abdullah Yusuf Ali Now, if they embark on a boat, they call on Allah, making their devotion sincerely (and exclusively) to Him; but when He has delivered them safely to (dry) land, behold, they give a share (of their worship to others) |
