﴿لِيَقۡطَعَ طَرَفٗا مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَوۡ يَكۡبِتَهُمۡ فَيَنقَلِبُواْ خَآئِبِينَ ﴾
[آل عِمران: 127]
﴿ليقطع طرفا من الذين كفروا أو يكبتهم فينقلبوا خائبين﴾ [آل عِمران: 127]
Abdel Haleem and in order to cut off the flanks of the disbelievers’ army and frustrate them, to make them withdraw in total defeat |
Abdul Hye (Allah might) cut off a group of those who disbelieve, or subdue them, so that they (withdraw) frustrated |
Abdullah Yusuf Ali That He might cut off a fringe of the Unbelievers or expose them to infamy, and they should then be turned back, frustrated of their purpose |
