﴿وَقَالُواْ لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَتَيۡنِ عَظِيمٍ ﴾
[الزُّخرُف: 31]
﴿وقالوا لولا نـزل هذا القرآن على رجل من القريتين عظيم﴾ [الزُّخرُف: 31]
| Abdel Haleem and they said, ‘Why was this Quran not sent down to a distinguished man, from either of the two cities?’ |
| Abdul Hye And they said: “Why is this Qur’an not sent down to some great man of the 2 towns (Makkah and Taif)?” |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali Also, they say: "Why is not this Qur'an sent down to some leading man in either of the two (chief) cities |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi And they say: wherefore hath not this Qur'an been revealed to a man of the two cities who was great |
| Ahmed Ali They also said: "Why was this Qur'an not sent down to some great man of the two cities |
